24th Street Experiment debuts play

The 24th Street Experiment will present its latest play, “Family Devotions,” from Feb. 1 through Feb.10.

“Family Devotions,” written and directed by retired OLLU professor Ric Slocum, depicts the story of three generations of one family in Oklahoma and how racism, fear and bigotry affect the family.

Produced by OLLU drama professor Victor Trevino, “Family Devotions” includes performances from Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jackie Alexander, local theater director Diane Malone, Northwest Vista College drama instructor Mellisa Marlowe, OLLU alumni and local middle school drama instructor Salvador Valadez, local actor Pam Slocum, and student Eric Trevino.

The play will be performed Feb. 5-10 at 8 p.m. in Thiry Auditorium. General admission for the play is $20. Military and students with IDs and those over 65 will be charged $10. Free admission will be given to those with an OLLU ID.
