Director
Robert Zemeckis directs a star-studded
cast in “Beowulf,” based
on an old English epic poem. Beowulf
(Ray Winstone) must rescue King Hrothgar
(Anthony Hopkins) and his people from
the terrible monster Grendel (Crispin
Glover).
After a brutal fight against Beowulf,
Grendel tells his mother who hurt
him as he dies. She vows her revenge.
King Hrothgar rewards Beowulf with
a golden horn with a dragon wrapped
around it and tells everyone Beowulf
will inherit his throne when he dies.
Hrothgar soon dies, and Beowulf becomes
king. Not wanting to give too much
away, I’ll leave the rest for
you to watch.
After watching this movie at the IMAX
in 3D then watching it on DVD, it’s
obvious that it doesn’t give
the audience the same experience.
The story line of the film is great.
It’s also little bit of a mystery,
so make sure you pay attention.
There’s plenty of action and
adventure for everyone to enjoy. Visually,
it’s amazing.
This is the second film Zemeckis has
used the live-action motion capture
technique. The first film in which
Zemeckis used the technique was “The
Polar Express.” Overall, grab
the popcorn, crank up the volume,
and enjoy this action adventure.
