I
love playoff games! I love watching
them and more than that I love being
there, watching it all live and in-person
and getting caught up in all the passion
and energy. I am not simply talking
about sitting in the AT&T Center
watching the Spurs play, but any playoff
game.
This fall I went with my family to
watch the Southwest Dragons (my alma
mater) take on the O’Connor
Panthers in the first round of the
high school football state championships.
The game was held at the Alamodome
and as soon as we entered I could
feel the change of energy. It’s
the same way that the AT&T Center
feels different when you walk in to
watch round one of the Western Conference
finals from when you go during the
regular season. The entire atmosphere
has changed and somehow you just know…it’s
really game time!
The road to winning any title, whether
it’s at the pee-wee, high school,
collegiate, or professional level,
is marked with amazing plays, Cinderella
stories, come-from-behind victories,
and tragic losses. Each game contains
the same passion, the same drive and
insane want to do anything possible
to end up on top. The fans can even
sense this in the teams and seem to
cheer louder and be just a little
more vocal about calls and such.
So take some time to watch a game
or two of the NBA playoffs. I can
promise you won’t be left feeling
like you wasted two hours of your
life. After all, it’s the playoffs…what
else needs to be said?
