The Austin-based band Explosions in the Sky released its fifth album, “All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone,” on Feb. 20. The primarily instrumental and experimental sound is most famous for being heard in the 2004 film “Friday Night Lights.” The group wrote the entire soundtrack for the film as well as for the recent NBC series based on the film.
The sound on this album proves that lyrics are completely unnecessary with the sound of three guitars, a drum kit and a piano pumping out more soul and style than any words could possibly display.
Tracks such as “Welcome Ghosts” and “Catastrophe and the Cure” make you feel as if you cannot help but start pounding beats on your steering wheel.
Explosions in the Sky brings a melodic blitz that’s sure to send explosions in your ears from deep in the heart of Texas.
