The Malt House was once known for its delicious malts; it was like the Dairy Queen of our time. Now, it’s not only the malts that drive the crowds through the doors, the menu itself is a melting pot of different styles.
Whether you are in the mood for a juicy hamburger and crispy French fries or a plate of fish and other seafood selects or a wide array of Mexican food, no worries, it’s all on one menu.
The Malt House doubles as a drive-in and dine–in. The wait time for the drive–in can average 20 minutes, but typically only for big orders. Our order was for five hamburgers, French fries, two sodas, and three malts, all for $25.
I know it seems unbelievable, but believe it. This fantasy place is at 115 S. Zarzamora St. So next time you are passing through downtown, remember the Malt House for a quick, delicious, affordable bite to eat.
