The School of Business and the Leadership Studies program recently have teamed up to create what is now known as the School of Business and Leadership. The reason behind this move? The University felt that by merging the two programs students would be able to benefit from the changes.
According to Dr. Robert Bisking, assistant professor and dean of the School of Business, there will be no “physical changes” but there will definitely be more visible opportunities for students to take advantage of.
Also, he adds, business and leadership studies students are not the only ones who will benefit from the merger. “The university is about developing students to go out and be leaders in their communities,” Bisking said.
Dr. Bisking stated that joint programs will be developed and made available to the Lake community in the weeks to come. All students are encouraged to check out the courses offered by the School of Business and Leadership to see if a course might be ideal in helping develop business and leadership skills.
Another benefit of this move is that professors from the Leadership Studies program and the School of Business will be able to “cross pollinate” and teach courses in both programs. The perks for the students? More options when it comes to the faculty teaching the courses.
