’Til death do us part: ‘The Fountain’ review

Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Fountain.” They play a couple throughout three interweaving stories taking place over 1,000 years.

The movie is a visual delight. It has a twisting plotline, and is not for everyone. It is important, when you watch this movie, to pay close attention.

Aronofsky draws possibly the best performances of Jackman and Weisz’s careers. The DVD itself has a full set of videos explaining the making of the film, as well as a trailer for the movie.

The movie has a somber feel to it, unlike Aronofsky’s “Requiem for a Dream.” It’s something along a similar line. Either way, if you want an off-beat story with some killer performances and amazing visuals, “The Fountain” is perfect.
