Ryan Reynolds’ comedic showmanship is on display in 2005’s “Just Friends.” He plays Chris Brander, an overweight high school student who is in love with his best friend, Jamie Palomino (Amy Smart).

After an embarrassing confession of his feelings for her, Chris runs away from home the night after his high school graduation. Now, in the present day, Chris has become a successful Los Angeles record executive and has transformed himself into a new man. However, as a chance flight leaves him stuck at home over the Christmas holiday, he runs into Jamie, who still lives in New Jersey.

Hilarity ensues as Chris tries to woo Jamie with his new looks and ferocious womanizer charm that seems to have all of the attractive women in town swooning over him. The movie is truly funny and a great romantic comedy.
