During
the winter break, many of us from
the OLLU community will be keeping
busy. At the Lake Front we thought
it would be interesting to see what
kinds of activities various administration,
faculty and staff members plan to
do during the break. We decided to
ask people about their plans, and
the following responses were kindly
shared with us. Happy Holidays from
the Lake Front!
“My plan is to attend my first
Alamo Bowl and cheer the Penn State
Nittany Lions to victory!!!”
--- Mark Center, director
of Residence Life
“Spending quiet time with my
family, enjoy seeing my beautiful
4-year-old granddaughter, Audrey,
open her Christmas presents on Christmas
morning, delivering Christmas food
baskets to some less-fortunate families
as a member of the Blue Knights Law
Enforcement Motorcycle Club, reflecting
on the many blessings granted to me
and my family this year, and praying
for the entire University and CDP
community.”
--- A.J. Sandoval, chief of
police/director of Campus Safety
“I have a few family members
from out of town staying with us during
the break, and I am looking forward
to catching up with them. I also plan
to go to a few movies.”
--- Gloria Urrabazo, vice
president of Mission Effectiveness
“I plan to finish writing my
latest play, “Refugee,”
for submission to the Last Frontier
Theater Conference in Valdez, Alaska,
and to begin rewriting the second
draft of my novel, “Talking
to the Dead.” In between those
two projects, I hope to watch lots
of movies and catch up on some reading.”
--- Antoinette Winstead, professor
and chair of the Communication Arts
Program
“During the winter break, I
plan to visit my 91-year-old mother
in San Angelo, celebrate my son’s
22nd birthday on December 22, and
possibly attend a spiritual New Year’s
Eve retreat at the H-E-B Foundation
Camp near Leakey, Texas, where some
fabulous musicians from New York will
be performing.”
--- DeAnna Campbell, manager,
Student Employment Office
