Dinner on a Dime

Asian cuisine in San Antonio

Contributing writer

Are you looking for great Asian cuisine food? Look no more – P.F. Chang’s China Bistro is an Asian cuisine restaurant that provides a variety of food for those who love authentic Asian food.

As you enter the restaurant it is dimly lit which gives it a nice, calm and quiet atmosphere. The waiters and waitresses create a special sauce in front of you while explaining the different ingredients being added.

Before ordering your meal, I recommend Chang’s Chicken Soothing Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer. It comes with fresh cool lettuce and chicken, and as you prepare it, it feels like you’re eating a taco except without the tortilla. Other appetizers to taste are Shrimp Dumplings, Harvest Spring Rolls and Salt and Pepper Calamari.

One of the delights of the menu is the Sweet and Sour Chicken-Stir Fried served with pineapple, bell peppers and onions. The sweet and sour sauce is added to the chicken to give it that pungent flavor. This is one of the plates that most people cannot miss out on. The white rice that is served with the plate is cooked to perfection. This plate costs around $7. The restaurant also specializes in soups, salads, chicken, seafood, noodles, vegetarian plates and many more

Desserts range from their New York Style Cheesecake served with fresh berries and raspberry sauce to Banana Spring Rolls. Along with these desserts it the Great Wall of Chocolate made especially for those who love chocolate. It is a six-layer chocolate cake with chocolate chips served along with raspberry sauce. If you love chocolate, the Great Wall of Chocolate is a must.

If you are worrying about gaining those few extra pounds don’t panic, the restaurant has a menu online that will provide nutritional information on every dish.

The overall prices are reasonable because the entrees range from $6 to $14. The service is good, although if you don’t have reservations it can take about 15 to 20 minutes for a table. I would recommend if you’re going with a group it is better to reserve a table.

The restaurant is at 15900 La Cantera Parkway in La Cantera shopping center and also at the Alamo Quarry Market, 255 E. Basse Road. Stop by and try the delicious cuisines P.F. Chang’s has to offer because it will make you want to go back as soon as you leave.
