Movie Blog

That’s a wrap, folks!

All good things must come to an end. This is my last blog as a member of the Lake Front staff. But before I go, I think it is important to give a few final thoughts as we head into the holiday season of movies. So here are a few predictions:

No matter what people think, “Alien vs. Predator: Requiem” is going to be great. I know it looks stupid, but, seriously, give it a chance. Anything is better than the other “Alien Vs. Predator” movie.

I think “The Golden Compass” will be the next “Lord of the Rings” series. I don’t even like films like that, but the movie looks amazing. Daniel Craig looks like he is in top acting form as always.

“Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story” is going to make “Talladega Nights” look like “House Party 4” (and that is no mortal achievement). John C. Reilly will emerge out of the shadow of Will Ferrell’s Ricky Bobby and be able to stand on his own after this film. A hilarious-looking cameo by Paul Rudd looks like it won’t hurt either.

“I Am Legend” will be a good film, but Will Smith will make it into some crazy movie spouting random one-liners every five seconds straight out of “Men in Black.” The movie starts off sounding just as good as 2004’s “I, Robot” but will probably collapse after a few minutes. Smith is not Tom Hanks in “Castaway.” That’s not to say Smith isn’t a good actor, but I just don’t think he’ll fit the story well.

It has been a lot of fun being able to share my opinions and thoughts with readers out there for the site. I hope you have enjoyed my work as much as I enjoyed putting it out there.

I hope everyone has a safe holiday season and is able to get out there and see some great films when they get the chance. Happy holidays and here’s wishing a great time at the pictures!

And remember, turn those cells to silent! :)
